LivingHalal Cooking: An Energy Efficient Way

15 February 2007 No Comment

One aspect of LivingHalal is to appreciate Allah’s provisions and not to waste.

If you cook regularly, you can save money by implementing some of these tips:
· Use the kettle to boil water for cooking, instead of heating a pan on the stove. Not only will this be more efficient, but it generally takes less time too
· Covering cooking pans while cooking to prevent heat loss
· Covering the cooker hob with the pan base, if you can see some hob, you’re wasting energy
· Use less liquid, things cook quicker that way
· Reheating left-overs in the microwave or on a hob, not in the oven
· Use a pressure cooker if you have one
· Cook ‘one pot’ meals like stews or soups
